Leonard G. Nelms, CPA
Leonard is a graduate of Georgia State University in Atlanta, earning his BBA Degree while also serving as Vice President of the 1962-63 Senior Class. He spent his early career in several industries including public accounting, clothing manufacturing, aircraft production(Lockheed), wood products(Champion Papers), land development in Colorado & Macon, GA, and as Assistant Controller of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) in Marietta, GA.
Leonard opened his CPA practice in 1993 as a general accounting office with a concentration in income tax preparation for both personal and business returns.
Leonard has been married to Joan since 1958; they have three children and nine grandchildren ranging in age from 29 to 5! If you want to know about the accomplishments of the grandchildren, all you have to do is ask!
Leonard E. Nelms, CPA
Len is a proud graduate of The University of Alabama, earning a B.A. in Criminal Justice. He started working in the firm in 2004, helping prepare tax returns and helping with general office responsibilities. Over the years, his dad taught him the “ins and outs” of accounting and tax preparation, and especially about treating clients as valued friends. After a successful career in sales and sales management in the telecommunications and construction supplies industries, he went back to school (Kennesaw State University) to change careers and follow in his father’s footsteps as a CPA, earning his license in early 2014.
Len has been married to Tammi since 1985; they have two children, Christian and Chloe. He has been active in coaching all their sports teams over the years, including football, baseball, basketball and fastpitch softball. He and his family are long time members of First Baptist Woodstock, where he has served as an Adult Sunday School teacher, deacon, and care group leader. His goal is to live as an ambassador of Jesus Christ in all his personal and professional relationships. (Psalm 19:7-11)
